Astrophysical probes of strong field General Relativity (PRETALK for Students at 15:30)
Two currently operating observatories give direct access to the strong-field regime of General Relativity (GR) in an unprecedented way: The gravitational wave detector, advanced LIGO, and a combined interferometric array of radio telescopes spanning the globe, the Event Horizon telescope.
